Running the Contact Statement of Account report

Generate a complete transaction history for a customer or vendor over a period.

Jul 11, 2026

The Contact Statement of Account report shows every transaction for a selected contact over a time period, with a running balance. Use this to send to customers, verify with vendors, or audit an account.

Before you start

  • You need permission to view reports (standard for accounting users).
  • Pick the specific contact you want to report on.
  • Choose the start and end dates for the period you want to report.

Steps

  1. Go to Reports → Contact Statement of Account and open the report builder. Open in Usystems

  2. Select the contact (customer or vendor) from the dropdown. Type to search by name.

  3. Set the from date and to date to define your reporting period.

  4. (Optional) Choose a currency if your contact transacts in multiple currencies and you want to see only one.

  5. (Optional) Check Include opening balance to show what the balance was at the start of the period.

  6. Click Generate report or Run to execute.

The report displays immediately with all transactions for that contact sorted by date.

Accounting impact

This is a read-only report — it does not change any data. Use it to verify what you have recorded and to reconcile with your customer or vendor.

Tips & common mistakes

  • Run one statement per contact — you cannot run a statement for multiple contacts at once. Use the Contact Balance report if you need all contacts.
  • Include opening balance is helpful for customers reviewing their statement — they can see where they started in the period.
  • The statement is a ledger showing every debit and credit; total all debits and credits to verify the ending balance.
