Quick answers to common questions about customer records and customer-related settings.

Can I change a customer's name after I create them?

Yes. Open the customer's profile, edit the Name field, and click Save. The change applies to future invoices and reports, but past invoices keep the name that was saved when they were created.

What happens if I delete a customer?

Usystems does not allow customer deletion because it would break the link to past invoices. If a customer is no longer active, mark them as Inactive instead. This hides them from the customer dropdown but keeps their record and history intact.

Can a customer have multiple email addresses?

The current version stores one email per customer. If they have multiple contact emails, you can edit the record to update it, or keep the primary email and note alternatives in a comments field if available.

Can I use the same customer name for different people?

Technically yes, but it's not recommended because Usystems will link all invoices and payments to the same name. If you have two people with the same name, consider adding a middle initial or location suffix (e.g., "Ahmed Karim — Kabul" vs. "Ahmed Karim — Herat") to distinguish them.

Do I have to enter an email or address?

No. The Name is the only required field. You can create a customer with just their name and add email and address details later. This is useful for quickly adding customers in high-volume settings.

Can I create multiple customers at once?

The current version does not have bulk import for customers. You must create them one at a time. However, there is a data import feature for bulk operations on some products — check with your product administrator.

What's the difference between "Inactive" and "Walk-in"?

Inactive is for customers you've previously created but no longer use. They remain in your system with their history.
Walk-in (متفرقه) is for one-time customers you never record; they don't create a customer record at all. See the concept guide for details.

Can I restore an inactive customer?

Yes. Open the customer's profile, toggle Status back to Active, and click Save.
