Running the Discounts by Customer report
Generate a report that shows all discounts given to each customer.
The Discounts by Customer report shows you every discount applied to each customer across all invoices and sales receipts. This helps you understand which customers receive the most discounts and track your discount spending by customer.
Before you start
- You must have end-user or admin access to the Reports section.
- The report will include all discounts from the current period and earlier; you can filter by date if needed.
- Discounts include both item-level discounts (on individual products) and document-level discounts (applied to the entire invoice or receipt).
Steps
-
Go to Reports → Discounts by Customer and click on it. Open in Usystems
-
The report will load with default settings. Review the data displayed.
-
(Optional) Apply filters at the top of the report to narrow down the results:
- Date range — select the period you want to examine.
- Customer — choose specific customers, or leave blank to see all.
- Currency — filter by currency if your business uses multiple currencies.
- Warehouse/Location — if applicable, filter by where the sale occurred.
-
Once you've set your filters, the report updates automatically.
-
Review the columns: Customer, Total Discounts, Count of Discounts, Percentage of Sales, and Amount. Each row shows one customer's totals.
-
To export the data, see the "Exporting and printing the Discounts by Customer report" article.
Tips & common mistakes
- Filter before viewing large datasets — if you have thousands of invoices, set a date range first to keep the report fast.
- Check the date filter — the report defaults to a specific period; adjust it if you're looking for a different time frame.
- Currency affects totals — if you filter by currency, only discounts in that currency appear; multi-currency discounts may be split.
