Reading and interpreting the Account Transfers & Account-to-Contact Movement report
Understand the flow and meaning of account movements and balance allocations.
What it is
The Account Transfers & Account-to-Contact Movement report displays all internal account transfers and balance movements between accounts and contact balances. It records when money moves from one account to another, or when a customer or vendor balance is applied to settle a document.
Why it matters
Account transfers are key to understanding internal cash flow and balance management. When you allocate a customer's prepayment to an invoice, or transfer money between accounts, this report shows the complete history. It helps you verify that balances are where they should be and that allocations are accurate.
How it works in Usystems
The report shows each transfer with:
- Date — when the transfer was posted
- Source Account — the account or contact balance that money came from
- Destination Account — the account or contact balance that money went to
- Amount — the amount transferred
- Reference — the document (invoice, payment, journal entry) that caused the transfer
Transfers always move money from one place to another in a balanced way (the source decreases, the destination increases).
Where you see it
- Go to Reports and select the Account Transfers & Account-to-Contact Movement report. Open in Usystems
- Use it when auditing balance management, verifying allocations, or tracking internal account movements.
