Filters and options in the Cash Breakdown report
The Cash Breakdown report supports several filters to narrow results to just the data you need.
Date Filters
| Filter | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| From Date | The first day to include in the report | 2026-07-01 |
| To Date | The last day to include in the report (inclusive) | 2026-07-31 |
Leave the dates blank to report on all historical data, or pick a date range matching your reporting period (month, quarter, year, etc.).
Account Filters
| Filter | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Select one or more cash accounts to include | Main Cash, Bank Account – ABC Bank |
| If left empty, the report includes all cash accounts |
Use this to focus on a single account (e.g., if you're reconciling a specific bank statement) or to compare activity across multiple accounts.
Contact Filters
| Filter | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Type | Filter by the type of contact involved: Customer, Vendor, or Employee | Customer (to see only customer receipts and related activity) |
| Contact | Select a specific contact to show only their transactions | Acme Corp., Dr. Smith |
Contact filters are useful for narrowing down activity tied to a particular business partner. For example, if a customer claims non-receipt of a payment, filter by that customer to see all cash interactions with them.
How filters combine
When you apply multiple filters, the report shows only rows that match all of them. For example:
- Account = "Main Cash" AND Contact Type = "Customer" AND From Date = 2026-07-01 → Shows only customer receipts to Main Cash in July.
- Contact = "XYZ Vendor" → Shows all cash activity tied to XYZ Vendor, regardless of account or date (unless you also set dates).
If a filter is left blank, it is ignored (treated as "all").
Clearing filters
To reset all filters to their defaults and see all data, click the Reset or Clear Filters button (if available) at the top of the report form.
