Running the End of Day report
Generate a daily summary of cash, sales, and operational activity for your shift or business day.
The End of Day report summarizes all cash, sales receipts, payments, and customer activity for a selected time period—typically a single business day or cashier shift. It helps you verify daily transactions, reconcile your cash drawer, and review operational performance.
Before you start
- You must have permission to view reports in your role (admin, cashier, or reception user).
- The report automatically filters data based on your user role (cashier sees payments and refunds; reception sees customer activity; admin sees everything).
- You will need to know the date or date range you want to report on.
- If your business day does not align with calendar midnight, you can set custom start and end times.
Steps
-
In Usystems, navigate to Reports → End of Day Open in Usystems.
-
Select the Start Date for the report (today or a previous date). The report will show all activity from that date.
-
Select the End Date to include multiple days, or leave it the same as the start date for a single day.
-
(Optional) If your business day runs on non-standard hours (for example, 04:00 to 23:59), click Set Custom Time Range and enter your business start and end times.
-
(Optional) If you want to see account-level accounting details (debit/credit movements by account), check the Show Detailed Accounting option.
-
Click Run Report to generate the summary.
The report will display your daily totals for sales receipts, payments, refunds, cash flow, and any relevant operational metrics (queues, customers, or medical cases if your system includes them).
Accounting impact
The End of Day report does not post any transactions—it only summarizes and displays existing activity. All amounts shown reflect actual payments, sales, and refunds already recorded in your system.
Tips & common mistakes
- The report respects your user role: cashiers may not see all sections that administrators see.
- If you are looking for a specific transaction within the report, use the Detailed Accounting view to expand account names and amounts.
- The report defaults to today's date; you can compare multiple days by running the report again with different start and end dates.
- Custom time ranges are useful if your business operates extended hours or overnight shifts.
