Running the Queue Breakdown report
Generate a Queue Breakdown report to see how many patients are in each queue status.
The Queue Breakdown report shows a snapshot of all patients currently in your clinic's queues, grouped by queue and status. Use this report to monitor clinic flow and see where patients are waiting.
Before you start
- You must have access to view reports in your role.
- Your clinic must have at least one queue set up.
- You will need permission to access the clinical module.
Steps
-
Go to Reports in the main menu. Open in Usystems
-
Look for Queue Breakdown Report in the Operational Reports section.
-
Click Run Report or Generate to execute the report.
-
Wait a moment for the system to calculate and display the results. You will see a table with queue names, patient counts by status (waiting, in-consultation, completed, etc.), and totals.
-
The report defaults to today's data. To change the date range, use the Date filter at the top of the report and select your preferred dates, then click Apply or Refresh.
What you'll see
- Queue Name: The name of each queue at your clinic.
- Waiting: Count of patients in queue but not yet seen.
- In Consultation: Patients currently being served.
- Completed: Patients finished with their consultation.
- Total: Sum across all statuses for that queue.
A grand total at the bottom shows the overall patient count across all queues.
Tips & common mistakes
- The report updates in real time as staff move patients between statuses. Refresh the page if you need the latest snapshot.
- If your clinic does not use multiple queues, the report will show a single row for your default queue.
- Filtering by date shows you historical snapshots — you cannot change a patient's status from the report itself; you must return to the Queue page.
- If the report is empty, check that today is a clinic business day in your Usystems settings.
