Turning system sounds on or off

Usystems can provide audio feedback when you complete actions, such as saving a document or receiving a notification. You can turn these sounds on or off depending on your preference or environment.

Before you start

• You must be logged into Usystems.
• Your device must have speakers or audio output enabled.
• Sound preference is saved to your account.
• Turning off sounds does not affect alerts or notifications—they will still appear on your screen.

Steps

1. Open your user menu. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner.

2. Go to Settings. Select Settings from the dropdown menu. Open in Usystems

3. Find Sound settings. Look for the Sounds, Audio, or Notifications section.

4. Toggle sounds on or off:

   • Click or flip the toggle switch next to Enable Sounds, System Sounds, or similar.
   • On = you will hear audio feedback.
   • Off = the system will be silent.

5. Optional: adjust volume. Some systems allow you to control the sound level:

   • Look for a Volume slider if available.
   • Drag to increase or decrease the volume.

6. Save your choice. Click Save or Confirm if prompted. Your preference takes effect immediately.

Tips & common mistakes

• Sounds provide feedback, not alerts. A sound when you save confirms the action succeeded, but does not wake a sleeping device or override silent mode.
• If you mute your device, Usystems sounds will also be muted at the device level.
• Different actions may have different tones—you hear one sound for a successful save and another for an error. These cannot be customized per action.
• In a shared office or quiet environment, you may want sounds off to avoid disturbing others. Consider disabling them during certain hours.
• If you hear no sound after enabling, check that:
  • Your device volume is not set to 0 or mute.
  • Your browser tab is not muted (check the tab itself).
  • Your operating system is not in silent or do-not-disturb mode.
