Switching between Hijri Shamsi and Gregorian calendars

Usystems supports both Hijri Shamsi (هجری شمسی) and Gregorian calendars. You can choose which calendar system to use for all dates displayed in the system, from invoice dates to transaction records.

Before you start

• You must be logged into Usystems.
• Calendar preference is saved to your user account.
• Changing the calendar does NOT change your actual data—only how dates are displayed and formatted.
• Date entry fields will prompt you in your selected calendar format.

Steps

1. Open your user menu. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner.

2. Go to Settings. Select Settings from the dropdown menu. Open in Usystems

3. Find Calendar preference. Look for the Calendar or Date Format section.

4. Choose your calendar. Select one of:

   • Hijri Shamsi (هجری شمسی) — Afghan Islamic calendar
   • Gregorian — International/Western calendar

5. Save your choice. Click Save or Confirm if prompted. Dates throughout Usystems will update immediately.

Accounting impact

Date-based reports (invoices, aging lists, trial balance, statement of account) will use your chosen calendar. However, the system stores all dates internally in the same way—switching calendars only changes the display format, not the underlying data.

Tips & common mistakes

• Both calendars show the same moment in time, just in different numbering systems. A date in Shamsi calendar corresponds to exactly one date in Gregorian.
• Year numbers differ significantly—Shamsi year 1405 ≈ Gregorian year 2026. Be careful when reading dates in reports.
• If you enter a date manually, use the format of your selected calendar; the system will guide you with placeholders.
• You can switch back and forth at any time—there is no risk or penalty.
