Signing out
Securely end your Usystems session when you're done working.
Signing out (logging out) securely closes your Usystems session. This is important for protecting your account, especially if you're using a shared computer. Always sign out when you're done working.
Before you start
- You are currently logged into Usystems.
- You have saved any unsaved work (your changes will be lost if you sign out with unsaved edits).
- You know where the sign-out option is located (usually your user menu).
Steps
-
Find your user menu. Look in the top right corner of the screen for your user menu. It usually shows your name, initials, or a profile icon.
-
Click on your user menu. A dropdown menu will appear showing various options.
-
Look for the sign out option. Find an option labeled:
- "Sign Out"
- "Log Out"
- "Logout"
- "Exit"
-
Click Sign Out. Click on the sign-out option. The system will immediately close your session.
-
Confirm you're signed out. You will be redirected to the login page. If you see the login page, you are successfully signed out.
What happens after you sign out
- Your session is closed and you must log in again to use Usystems.
- If you were on a shared computer, the next person to use that computer cannot access your account.
- Your unsaved changes are lost. Always save your work before signing out.
- Any open documents or reports will be closed.
Tips & common mistakes
- Always sign out on a shared computer. Never just close the browser window without signing out — this leaves your account vulnerable.
- Sign out at the end of your workday. Even on a personal computer, it's good security practice to sign out when you're done.
- If you forget to sign out, the system may automatically sign you out after a period of inactivity (usually 1–2 hours, depending on your admin's settings). See Screen lock and auto-lock for details.
- Do not share your login credentials with others. If you need someone else to use your account, ask your admin to create a separate user account for them.
