Usystems supports several template types, each sized and formatted for a specific document category and output method. This reference lists each type, its dimensions, and which documents use it.

Key points:
- Page size affects the template editor. When you open a template, the editor shows a preview or outline of the physical page dimensions. A4 templates look like a standard letter; 80mm receipt templates appear as a narrow vertical strip.
- Print device matters. Thermal receipt printers (like those used in POS or pharmacy) require narrow templates (80mm width). Regular office printers use A4 or A5. If you customize a template for the wrong size, it may not fit on your printer.
- Scaling down is safe; scaling up breaks layouts. If you print an A4 document on a smaller printer, the software scales it down proportionally. If you try to fit 80mm content onto A4, it will be tiny. Always match the template type to your actual printing hardware.
- Localization per template type. You can create multiple versions of the same template type—for example, "Invoice – English," "Invoice – Dari," and "Invoice – Pashto"—each with translated text and culturally appropriate formatting.
How to choose the right template:
- For customer invoices and vendor bills: Use A4.
- For pharmacy prescriptions or patient medication labels: Use A5 Prescription.
- For POS terminals and card-reader receipt printers: Use 80mm Receipt.
- For patient queue management systems: Use Queue Ticket.
- For lab results, imaging, or medical reports: Use Diagnostic Report (often A4, but configurable).
