Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app to protect your USystems account, and learn what to do if you lose your device.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of protection to your account by requiring a time-based code from your phone in addition to your password. Because USystems accounts often have access to patient records and billing data, we strongly recommend every user turns it on.

  1. Go to Settings > Security and select Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Install an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy if you don't already have one.
  3. Scan the QR code shown on screen with the app, or enter the setup key manually.
  4. Enter the six-digit code the app generates to confirm the pairing.
  5. Save the ten single-use backup codes somewhere secure — a password manager works well.

If you ever lose access to your device, use a backup code to sign in, then re-pair a new device from Settings > Security. If you've lost both your device and your backup codes, contact your workspace administrator, who can reset 2FA on your account after verifying your identity.
