Can I use the same component in multiple kits or bundles?

Yes, absolutely. A single product can be a component in as many groups as you need. For example, "Gloves" might be part of a Medical Kit, a Starter Bundle, and a Premium Bundle simultaneously. Usystems tracks inventory at the component level, so reducing gloves in one group correctly updates your stock.

What happens if I change a kit or bundle after I've already created documents with it?

Changes to the kit or bundle definition (adding components, removing components, or changing quantities) only affect new documents. Documents you've already created keep their original composition. If you need a document to reflect the updated kit, you must create a new one.

Can I have a kit as a component of another kit?

No. Only individual products (non-group products) can be components. However, you can build multiple separate kits and use them independently on different documents.

How does inventory work if I don't have enough stock of a component?

When you add a kit or bundle to a document, Usystems does not check component availability at that moment. However, when you finalize the document (confirm the order or post the transaction), the system validates stock. If stock is insufficient, you will receive an error and cannot complete the action. You can adjust component quantities on the document before finalization or source additional inventory.

If I change the component quantity on a document after adding a kit, does it affect the kit definition?

No. Changes to component quantities on a document are document-local only. They do not modify the original kit or bundle definition. The next time you use that kit, it will still have its original component quantities.

Can I change the selling price of a kit or bundle on a specific invoice?

Yes. The price shown on a document can be overridden for that transaction only, without changing the kit's master price. Changes to the document price do not affect the kit definition.

What's the difference between a kit and a bundle from an inventory perspective?

From an inventory standpoint, there is no functional difference. Both reduce component stock when the document is finalized. The difference is visual:

• Kits expand into separate lines, so the customer sees all components.
• Bundles stay as one line, keeping components hidden.

Choose based on your customer's needs and document clarity, not inventory tracking.

Can I print or email these documents? How do components appear?

Usystems supports printing documents containing kits and bundles. Kits print with component lines visible; bundles print as a single line. Email functionality is not currently available for documents.

If a customer orders a large quantity of a bundle, does the system multiply component quantities automatically?

Yes. If you order 5 bundles and each bundle contains 2 gloves, 1 bottle, and 3 bandages, the system will reduce 10 gloves, 5 bottles, and 15 bandages from inventory. Quantities scale proportionally.

What reports show component details from kits and bundles?

Most Usystems reports (inventory, cost of goods sold, aging) operate at the component level. This means:

• Inventory reports show individual component stock, not bundle or kit totals.
• Cost reports reflect actual component costs and margins.
• Sales reports may show components grouped by kit name (depending on the report).
