The Inventory Value report offers filters to help you focus on the financial aspects most relevant to your business. Below is a reference for each filter and how it affects the report.

Available filters

FilterDescriptionExample use
WarehouseShow inventory value for one warehouse, or all if blank.Select "Warehouse A" to see only the asset value at that location.
Item CategoryFilter by product type or classification.Choose "Medicine" to see the total value of all medicines.
Item CodeSearch by SKU or internal code.Enter "PROD-001" to see the value of one specific item.
Item NameSearch by product name (partial or full).Type "insulin" to find all insulin products and their total value.
Costing methodChoose how items are valued (FIFO, average, last cost, standard).Select "FIFO" to see value based on oldest-batch costs.
CurrencyFilter by currency if you operate in multiple currencies.Select "USD" to see values in US dollars only.
DateView inventory value as of a specific date.Select "2026-06-30" to see what the value was last month.
Minimum valueShow only items above a certain dollar threshold.Set to "$1000" to highlight high-value items.

How filters work together

Filters use AND logic—the report shows only rows matching all selected filters. For example:

  • Warehouse = "Main" + Item Category = "Medicine" → shows medicine value in the Main warehouse only.
  • Costing method = "Average Cost" + Currency = "USD" → shows value of all items costed by average method, in USD.

Clearing and reapplying filters

  • Clear all filters — click the Reset button to return to the unfiltered view (all items, all warehouses, all costs).
  • Quick filter — filters are remembered when you re-run the report in the same session.

Performance notes

  • Reports with many items may take longer to generate. Consider filtering by category or warehouse to speed up results.
  • Changing the date or costing method may significantly change the total value, especially if you use FIFO.
