Navigating the Patient Records Module
A tour of the Patient Records module covering patient search, chart navigation, and the history, visits, and billing tabs.
The Patient Records module is where most of your day-to-day work happens, so it's worth getting comfortable with its layout before you're under pressure during a busy clinic day.
Searching for a patient is the natural starting point. The search bar at the top of the module accepts a name, medical record number, or phone number, and results narrow as you type. Once you select a patient, you land on their chart, which is organized into tabs rather than one long scrolling page.
The History tab shows demographic details, allergies, and past diagnoses at a glance. The Visits tab lists every encounter chronologically, with the most recent appointment at the top, and clicking any visit expands its full clinical notes. The Billing tab pulls together invoices, insurance claims, and outstanding balances tied to that specific patient, so front-desk staff can answer payment questions without leaving the chart.
Because tabs load independently, switching between them is fast even on a slow connection, which matters during busy intake periods.
