Pages are loading slowly

Diagnose and fix slow page load times in Usystems.

Jul 11, 2026

Symptom

Pages in Usystems take 10+ seconds to load, or the application feels unresponsive when navigating between screens. Forms, reports, or list pages (such as Invoices or Contacts) open slowly even with a fast internet connection.

Likely causes

Listed by probability:

  1. Too many items loading at once — A single page is trying to fetch thousands of records (e.g., a full contact list or large product inventory) without pagination or filtering. This is the most common cause.

  2. Network latency or bandwidth issues — Your internet connection is slow or unstable. Check your WiFi signal strength or wired connection quality.

  3. Browser cache is full or corrupted — Your web browser's local storage has accumulated too much data or conflicting cache entries.

  4. Your device has insufficient memory — RAM is low, causing the browser and Usystems to slow down. Other applications running in the background may be consuming resources.

  5. Backend server is busy — The Usystems server is experiencing high load from other users or automated tasks.

Fix for each cause

Fix 1: Use filters or search to reduce items on screen

When opening a list page (Invoices, Contacts, Products, etc.), the system may attempt to load all records. Instead:

  1. Use the search box at the top of the list to filter by name, number, or keyword. This retrieves only matching records.

    • Example: type "Ahmed" in the Contacts search to see only contacts named Ahmed.
  2. Use dropdown filters (status, date range, type) to narrow the results before the page loads.

    • Example: in Invoices, filter by "Status = Draft" to show only draft invoices.
  3. Create a saved filter or report with columns and conditions you use often, rather than loading the full list each time.

If you notice a specific page always loads slowly even with filters applied, contact your Usystems administrator — the server may need optimization.

Fix 2: Improve your internet connection

  • WiFi: Move closer to the router, or ask your network administrator to strengthen the signal.
  • Wired: Use a hardwired Ethernet cable if available; it is more stable than WiFi.
  • Bandwidth: Check with other users on your network — large downloads or video calls elsewhere can slow Usystems.
  • Try a different network: If possible, test Usystems on a different internet connection to confirm the issue is not local to your current network.

Fix 3: Clear your browser cache and local storage

Warning: This will log you out and clear saved preferences in Usystems. Sign in again after clearing.

On Chrome or Chromium browsers:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac).
  2. Choose All time from the "Time range" dropdown.
  3. Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  4. Click Clear data.
  5. Close and reopen the browser. Sign back into Usystems.

On Safari (Mac):

  1. In the menu bar, click Safari → Settings.
  2. Go to the Privacy tab.
  3. Click Manage Website Data.
  4. Find and select the Usystems domain.
  5. Click Remove.
  6. Close and reopen Safari. Sign back into Usystems.

On Firefox:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac).
  2. Under "Time range for clearing", select Everything.
  3. Ensure Cookies and Site Data and Cache are checked.
  4. Click Clear Now.
  5. Close and reopen Firefox. Sign back into Usystems.

Fix 4: Free up memory on your device

  • Close unnecessary applications — Shut down video calls, media players, and browser tabs you are not using.
  • Restart your device — Reboot your computer to clear temporary memory and reset running processes.
  • Use an up-to-date browser — Older browser versions use more memory. Update to the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
  • Upgrade your device — If your device has less than 4 GB of RAM, consider upgrading to improve overall performance.

Fix 5: Contact your administrator or support

If the above steps do not help, or if you believe the server is slow:

  • Ask your Usystems administrator to review server performance logs and consider scaling.
  • Note the time and details of when the slowness occurred (e.g., "Invoices page slow at 10:30 AM when loading 2024 data"). This helps diagnose the root cause.
  • If you have a support agreement, contact Usystems support with the following information:
    • Page that was slow (e.g., Invoices, Reports, Contacts).
    • Whether filters were applied, and how many items were shown.
    • Your internet connection type (WiFi or wired) and approximate speed (if known).
    • Browser name and version.

When to contact support

Contact Usystems support if:

  • Slowness persists across all pages and all users on your account.
  • Clearing cache and restarting your device did not help.
  • You suspect server-side issues (e.g., slow load on a small filtered list with good internet).
  • You need help optimizing reports or large imports for performance.
