Can I change a product's code after I create it?
No. A product's code is permanent once created. If you made a mistake, you'll need to delete the product and create a new one with the correct code. For this reason, take time to choose a meaningful code when you first create the product.
What happens to invoices if I change a product's price?
Past invoices keep their original prices. When you change a product's sale or cost price, only new documents created after the change will use the new price. This protects your historical records.
Can I sell a product without tracking warehouse inventory?
Yes. When you create a product, you can choose Inventory Tracking: No if you don't want to manage stock levels in a warehouse. This is useful for services, consumables, or one-time-purchase items where tracking doesn't make sense. You can still add these products to invoices and orders.
What's the difference between deactivating and deleting a product?
Deactivating hides the product from new documents but keeps all its history intact. You can reactivate it later if needed. Deleting permanently removes the product and all its records. Use deactivate if the product has been used in past transactions; use delete only if the product was created by mistake and never used.
Can I have the same product in multiple warehouses?
No. Each product has one default warehouse. However, you can move or transfer the product between warehouses using inventory adjustment features. The system tracks the product's quantity in each location.
Can a product belong to multiple product types?
No. Each product must be one type: inventory product, service, or group product. The type determines how it behaves (stock tracking, warehouse management, etc.) and cannot be changed after creation.
How many images can I add to a product?
Usystems stores one primary image per product. If you need to replace it, upload a new image and it will overwrite the previous one.
Is the product code visible to customers?
The product code is primarily for your team's internal use. Customer-facing documents (invoices, receipts) typically show the product name, not the code. Your admin can customize print templates if needed.
