Understanding Tenants and Constellations
A conceptual overview of how USystems isolates hospital data using tenants, grouped internally into constellations.
USystems Atlas is a multi-tenant platform, which means many hospitals and clinics share the same underlying infrastructure while their data stays completely separate. Each hospital or clinic network is a tenant, with its own users, patient records, and billing data.
Internally, we group related tenants — for example, several branches of the same hospital group — into what we call a constellation. A constellation lets a parent organization see aggregated, permission-controlled reporting across its branches without merging their operational data.
Most administrators never need to think about constellations directly; they simply work inside their tenant. But if your organization operates multiple facilities under one umbrella, understanding this structure helps you make sense of cross-facility reports and shared configuration options that appear in Settings > Organization.
