Doctor's Essential Actions

Before closing a case, verify:
- Vital signs recorded (at least temperature and one other vital)
- Chief complaint and exam findings documented
- Diagnosis added (at least one)
- Allergies checked (if prescribing)
- Prescriptions written (if needed)
- Lab/imaging orders placed (if needed)

Quick tips
- Save your work often. Each section saves independently; don't wait until the end.
- Prescriptions go to pharmacy instantly. No need to write them down or call pharmacy.
- Lab results are not instant. Lab technicians process and upload them; check back in a few hours or the next day.
- You can re-open a closed case. If you forget something, just search for the patient and open their case again.
- Allergies are red flags. Always read them before prescribing. If a patient says "I'm allergic to penicillin," make a note in the case so you don't repeat it.
- If a patient needs a specialist referral, write it in the examination notes and tell your clinic manager in person. Usystems doesn't have an automated referral system yet.
