Build form fields
| Field | What it means |

| Product | The product being manufactured |
| Quantity | Number of units to produce |
| Bill of Materials | Components and quantities (auto-loaded from product template) |

| Due date / Promised delivery | Target completion or customer delivery date |
| Status | Not Started · In Progress · Ready for Completion · Complete |
| Notes | Internal comments (e.g., "custom color", "rush order") |
Bill of Materials (BOM) fields
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Component | Name of the material or part |
| Quantity per unit | How many of this component per finished unit |
| Unit of measure | Kilos, meters, pieces, etc. |
| Cost per unit | Purchase or standard cost of one component |
| Total cost | Quantity × cost per unit |
Build statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not Started | Created but production has not begun |
| In Progress | Materials have been reserved; work is underway |
| Ready for Completion | All assembly steps done; awaiting final receipt into inventory |
| Complete | Finished goods received; build closed |
| On Hold | Paused (e.g., waiting for materials or approval) |
Common abbreviations

Production checklist
- Bill of Materials (BOM) is set up for the product
- Raw materials and components are in stock
- Build start date allows time for lead times
- Due date is realistic (check historical build times)
- Team has capacity to start production
- Customer order details match the build (quantity, specifications)
- Lot/batch number is assigned (if required for traceability)
- Material consumption is logged daily
- Assembly steps are marked complete as work progresses
- Finished goods are received into inventory upon completion
