Can I skip any steps in the wizard?

No. The wizard requires you to complete all six steps in order before you can begin using the system. Each step builds on the previous one, and skipping a step would leave your system incomplete. However, after setup is complete, you can return to any step to edit details (e.g., adding more products, adjusting accounts, or modifying company information).

What if I make a mistake in one of the steps?

You can go back to any previous step within the wizard before clicking "Complete Setup". If you have already completed the wizard and need to correct something, most changes can be made afterward from the settings menu:

  • Company profile changes: Settings → Company Details
  • Products/services: Products → Edit Product
  • Accounts: Settings → Accounts
  • Users and roles: Settings → Users & Roles

Opening balances are an exception—once recorded, they should not be casually edited. Contact support if you need to correct an opening balance entry.

Can I change the business type (industry) after completing Step 2?

Yes, but it is not recommended unless absolutely necessary. Changing the business type after setup may require reconfiguring accounts and reseeding some data. If you realize you chose the wrong industry:

  1. Document what you have done so far.
  2. Contact support for guidance on the safest way to change industry type.

It is better to complete setup with your current choice and add missing modules or accounts afterward.

How many products/services do I need to add in Step 4?

You need to add at least one product or service to complete Step 4, but you do not need to add all of them during setup. Most businesses add their top 5–10 items in the wizard and then add more later from the Products menu. Adding products later does not affect existing transactions or reports.

What if I do not know the exact opening balances for Step 5?

If you do not have a complete trial balance from your prior system:

  1. Enter the balances you do know.
  2. Leave accounts with unknown balances blank (they default to zero).
  3. After setup, you can add or adjust balances from Settings → Opening Balances or contact an accountant to help you gather the missing information.

Note: It is important to have accurate opening balances because they form the foundation of all future reports. If you are unsure, consult with an accountant or your prior bookkeeper before finalizing.

The trial balance does not balance (debits ≠ credits). What do I do?

This is common. The system will not let you proceed until the trial balance balances. To fix it:

  1. Review each entry for typos (especially decimal places).
  2. Check that amounts are in the correct column (debit vs. credit).
  3. Ensure you have entered all accounts that had balances in your prior system.
  4. If you are missing a key account (e.g., retained earnings, equity), add it and enter its balance.
  5. If you are still stuck, consult with an accountant who can verify your prior trial balance and help identify the discrepancy.

Can I create the admin account in Step 6 with a personal email address?

Yes, you can, but it is not recommended. Use a company email address so that the admin account remains accessible even if the individual leaves your organization. If you must use a personal email initially, plan to transfer the admin account to a company address soon after setup.

What if the admin account invitation email does not arrive?

Check your spam or junk folder. If it is not there:

  1. Wait a few minutes (email delivery can be delayed).
  2. Use Settings → Users to resend the invitation.
  3. If the email still does not arrive, check that the email address is correct and not blocked by your email provider.

Can I change the admin password after setup?

Yes. The admin (or any user) can change their password anytime from Settings → Account (or the user's personal settings). If you forget the admin password, contact support for help resetting it.

Can I add team members after the wizard is complete?

Yes. You can add users anytime from Settings → Users & Roles. The permission roles you set up in Step 6 will be available for assigning to new users. You can also create custom roles if needed.

What happens if I do not add any team members in Step 6?

That is fine. You can operate the system with just the admin account and add team members later from Settings → Users. Many businesses start with one admin user and add team members as they grow.
