Changing your username or email

Update your login username or email address associated with your Usystems account.

Jul 11, 2026

Your username and email are tied to your login credentials. You can change either one if you need a new identity or have a new email address.

Before you start

  • You need access to an email address (either your current one, to confirm the change, or a new one where you will receive verification).
  • Some organizations may restrict username or email changes—check with your admin if you cannot find the option.
  • After changing your email, you may need to update it in other systems (single sign-on, email forwarding, etc.).

Steps

  1. Click your name or profile photo in the top-right corner. Open in Usystems

  2. Select Account Settings or Security Settings from the menu.

  3. Look for the Email or Contact Information section:

    • Enter your new email address.
    • You may be asked to confirm your current password.
    • Click Update or Save Changes.
  4. Check your old email inbox for a verification message from Usystems. Open it and click the verification link (or enter the code if prompted).

  5. To change your username:

    • Find the Username or Login ID field.
    • Enter your new username (usually lowercase letters and numbers, no spaces).
    • Click Update.
    • You may be logged out and asked to log back in with the new username.

Accounting impact

Changing your email or username does not affect financial data, permissions, or document trails. Your transactions and documents remain linked to your account regardless of the name you use to sign in.

Tips & common mistakes

  • Usernames are unique: if you get an error saying the username is taken, try adding a number or your initials.
  • Email verification is required: if you skip the email verification step, the change will not take effect.
  • Browser cache: if you are logged in on multiple devices, you may need to log out and log back in on each one.
  • Email forwarding: if you change your email but still need to receive messages at the old one, set up forwarding in your email provider.
